President Jacob Zuma has extended his deepest condolences on the tragic and sudden passing of the renowned South African racing car driver, Mr Gugu Zulu.
Mr Zulu was part of the Trek4Mandela climbers who were summiting the Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, for an initiative aimed at raising funds in support of underprivileged girls.
“We are deeply saddened by this tragic and painful incident which has taken place on a day on which we should be rejoicing and celebrating Madiba’s legacy. South Africa has lost an inspirational young man who was not only an adventure enthusiast, but was also passionate about community initiatives aimed at improving the lives of others. We send our heartfelt condolences to the Zulu family and wish them strength at this most difficult time,” said President Zuma.
