President Jacob Zuma signs into law Defence Laws Repeal and Amendment Act, 2015

President Jacob Zuma assents to Defence Laws Repeal and Amendment Act

President Jacob Zuma has in terms of section 84 (2) of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, 1996 signed into law the Defence Laws Repeal and Amendment Act, 2015.

The Act seeks to repeal certain obsolete or redundant laws administered by the Minister of Defence and Military Veterans.

Amongst the Acts to be repealed are the following: Defence Endowment Property and Account Amendment Act, 1929, Defence Amendment Act, 1954, Defence Special Account Amendment Act, 1981, Civil Defence Amendment Act, 1969.
