Premier Helen Zille and MEC Debbie Schafer visit Litha Primary School in Gugulethu, 24 Jul

Premier Zille and Minister Schafer to showcase ELearning Model School – Litha Primary School, Gugulethu

On Monday, 24th July 2017, Premier Helen Zille and Minister Debbie Schafer will be visiting Litha Primary School in Gugulethu. Litha Primary is one of 16 eLearning "Model School's" in the Province – as part of the Western Cape Government’s (WCG) eLearning GameChanger.

Premier Zille and Minister Schafer, who are leading the eLearning Game Changer, will for the first time be showcasing one of the ‘Model Schools’ to the public. A "Model School" is a school where every instruction room is digitally enabled and linked to the Wide Area Network (WAN).

These schools, with their full eLearning environments and well-trained teachers are the Province's eLearning community of practice where eCulture in Education is integrated into the classroom and embraced.

On Monday, Premier Zille and Minister Schafer will be engaging with the principal, teachers and learners that are using the new technology.

A demonstration on how the technology is used for everyday classroom practice will also be presented, as well as feedback on how the schools are being monitored to determine the benefits of the new technology.

All media are invited and welcome to attend.
