Premier Chupu Mathabatha meets community of Gandlanani (Khani), 18 Aug

The Premier Chupu Stanley Mathabatha is hard at work monitoring service delivery implemented by the Departments and Municipalities through the programme of Imbizo Outreach. On the 18th August 2017 at 09h00, Premier Mathabatha will lead a delegation of all Members of the Executive Council (EXCO) together with Executive Mayor and the Mayor of Giyani Municipality to Amon Nghulele Sport ground at Gandlanani (Khani) in Greater Giyani Municipality.

Premier will provide a platform to converse with the community of Gandlanani (Khani) village which is situated approximately 30 kilometers South-West of Giyani. There is a lack of economic development and high rate of unemployment which leads to poverty and the community depends on SASSA grants. Mopani District including Gandlanani (Khani) village is one of the areas affected by Malaria. In dealing with the epidemic,  Khensani Hospital created a temporary area made up of tents to accommodate the high number of Malaria patients.

According to the research conducted by the provincial government, the community does not have a library;  They need an additional high school to accommodate the learners who travel to neighbouring villages using scholar transport. Other challenges unearthed by the research are poor television network and lack of a Post Office.

Premier Chupu Mathabatha is aware of the water shortage in Gandlanani, Kwamankena, Hlaneki and Basani villages. He will provide solutions for rapid delivery and construction of dilapidated infrastructure such as boreholes, roads, sanitation and recreational facilities.
