Update on the Coronavirus and vaccine rollout by Premier Alan Winde

As of 1pm on 18 February, the Western Cape has 4975 active Covid-19 infections with a total of 273 105 confirmed Covid-19 cases and 257 148 recoveries.

The Western Cape has recorded 20 additional deaths, bringing the total number of COVID-19 related deaths in the province to10 982. We send our condolences to their loved ones at this time.

I would like to thank the people of Genadendal, and the Emil Weder school for hosting us over the past two days, and the Western Cape Provincial Parliament and all its members for allowing us the opportunity to outline the Western Cape Government's plans for dignity, safety, and jobs in the year ahead.
