Premier Ace Magashule welcomes reshuffling of national cabinet by President Zuma

The Free State Premier, Hon. Ace Magashule, has noted the decision by the President of the Republic of South Africa, His Excellency, Hon. J.G. Zuma, to reshuffle the national cabinet last week on Thursday. The Premier is content that, after conducting necessary consultations, and guided by his constitutional obligations, the President made informed changes in the cabinet.

The Premier is confident that these changes made in our national cabinet shall improve the effectiveness and efficiency of government to implement its mandate as given to it by the electorate in the 2014 elections. The Premier is also confident that the changes made in the national cabinet will accelerate the attainment of radical economic transformation. As stated unequivocally in the Freedom Charter, the people must indeed share in the country’s wealth.

The Premier congratulates all Ministers and Deputy Ministers on their appointments. The Premier and the Free State Executive Council shall continue to provide full support to the national executive as well as other spheres of government. Ours is a unitary state and we are of the belief that all spheres of government must work together to achieve the set objectives in the National Development Plan (NDP) and other key strategies and plans of government.

The Free State fully supports the reshuffling of the national cabinet. The Premier also seeks to further affirm the support of the Free State government to the President of the Republic, His Excellency, Hon. J.G. Zuma as President of our country. As per the wishes of our electorate, we are confident that President Zuma shall stay in his elected position until he finishes his term in 2019.
