Police holds awareness march as part of 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children

“Count me in: together moving a non-violent South Africa forward”

As part of the South African Police Service’s (SAPS) programme of action for the 16 Days of Activism for no Violence Against Women and Children, members of the SAPS will hold an awareness march from the Union Buildings to Church Square in Pretoria on Wednesday, 7 December 2016.

Members will be addressed by senior management of the SAPS at the Union Buildings before their departure to Church Square where formal proceedings will follow on their arrival.

The aim of the day is to advocate and raise awareness against the negative impact of violence against women and children on members of the community and to educate the community at large.

All media are cordially invited to attend as there will be an opportunity for photographs and interviews.

The event will unfold as follows:
Phase 1: Address by senior management of the SAPS and march to Church Square.

Phase 2: Formal programme in conjunction with the office of the MEC for Safety and Security and the office of the Mayor of Tshwane.
