Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation hosts International and National Monitoring and Evaluation Knowledge Sharing Forums, 18 to 20 Oct

The Department of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (DPME) in partnership with the World Bank; Centre for Learning on Evaluation and Research (CLEAR); and the Twende Mbele Project will be conducting an International Knowledge Sharing Workshop on Planning Monitoring and Evaluation (PM&E) in South Africa.

The workshop is a capacity building and learning initiative that seeks to increase learning and sharing around the use of PM&E for improved governance for African countries.  Information on PM&E is exchanged between all participating peer countries based on shared experiences; challenges and best practice in implementing PM&E.

A key outcome is the collective formulation of common approaches to some of the challenges, and each country adapts these to their specific context to improve performance and accountability. In addition, institutional partnerships are formed from the extensive engagements to further strengthen the implementation of national strategic priorities.

The Deputy Minister in the Presidency for Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, Buti Manamela will deliver a keynote address on the 19th of October at the Combined National and International Knowledge Sharing workshop.

The combined National and Provincial Monitoring and Evaluation Forum workshop is targeted at various heads of PM&E from National Departments, Offices of the Premier, PM&E and service delivery practitioners from government.

The International Knowledge Sharing Workshop focuses on the heads of Planning, heads of Monitoring and Evaluation in government departments from various countries. The meeting will be attended by 20 representatives from various countries around the world that will be sharing their knowledge on M&E methods and trends.
