Transport Deputy Minister puts aviation under the spotlight at Phalaborwa airshow
The Deputy Minister of Transport, Ms. Sindisiwe Chikunga will bring aviation under the spotlight at the Phalaborwa airshow in Limpopo on Saturday, 29 October 2016.
The airshow, hosted in conjuction with the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA), an entity of the Department, forms part of Department of Transport’s 2016 October Transport Month (OTM) campaign which showcases transport infrastructure projects, promotes the use of public transport and advances the country’s road safety initiatives.
The airshow will involve 1000 leaners from various schools under the Ba-Phalaborwa Local Municipality and more than 1000 members of the community from the same and surrounding areas.
There will be various spectacular and breathtaking displays on the day during the airshow by among others, members of the South African Air Force.
As part of the airshow, a career exhibition will be arranged for the learners and community members to share information about careers in the aviation industry and transport sector.
Deputy Minister Chikunga will be joined by Limpopo MEC for Transport and Community Safety Ms. Nandi Ndalane, Mayor of Ba-Phalaborwa Local Municipality,
Mr Pule Shai, key transport stakeholders, school leaders and members of the community.
