Parliament hosts Consumer and Human Rights debates, 15 Mar

The National Council of Provinces (NCOP) and the National Assembly (NA) will both be sitting tomorrow (from 14:00) to debate, among others, consumer rights and human rights.

During tomorrow’s sitting the NCOP will consider numerous Select Committee reports and then hold a debate on the World Consumer Rights Day under the theme: “Advancing our national resolve to protecting the social and economic welfare of consumers.”

The NA on the other hand will, among others, debate human rights in the “context of building a National Democratic Society underpinned by the vision of a united, non-racial, non-sexist, democratic and prosperous South Africa.”
