Parliament congratulates Luvo Manyonga for winning a silver medal at the Rio Olympic Games

Sport Committee proud of Luvo Manyonga’s performance at Rio

The Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Sport and Recreation, Ms. Beauty Dlulane wishes to express her congratulations and gratitude to Luvo Manyonga for winning a silver medal in the long jump final at the Rio Olympic Games.  

“As the Chairperson of the Committee, I am very proud of Luvo Manyonga for grabbing the second chance that he has been given by both hands. He has made the whole country proud. As a person who has been in contact with him over the past year, I am really impressed with the way he has performed. He has proven that talent, dedication and determination are a great combination when you want to succeed,” said Ms. Dlulane.

Ms. Dlulane also wishes to congratulate all the athletes who have made South Africa proud by winning silver and bronze medals for the country. “I would like to congratulate Cameron van der Burgh and Chad Le Clos for winning three silver medals for swimming, Shaun Keeling and Lawrence Brittain for winning a silver medal for rowing and the Rugby Sevens Team for winning a bronze medal at Rio,” said Ms. Dlulane.

The Chairperson wishes the athletes who are yet to perform good luck.
