Free State hosts Operation Hlasela, 12 to 14 Dec

Operation Hlasela: Day 1 Program

Free State Premier Ace Magashule, together with members of his executive will embark on a three town Operation Hlasela next week. The Premier and MECs will also visit various poor households to deliver food parcels, clothes for children and furniture. They will also visit projects that are underway to evaluate progress and allocate bursaries to deserving beneficiaries.

On Monday, 12 December 2016, the Premier will visit Wepener where a fun filled day with interesting activities is envisaged for the people of this town. These activities include a Christmas Party for the Elderly and Disabled People at the Community Hall in Qibing Township from 10h00 in the morning. Only the elderly 65 years and above and disabled people will be allowed into the venue.

Then from midday, the entourage will move to Ebenhezer Hoogte Township Sports Facility where another party, this time for children aged between 3 and 12 years old will be held. A community meeting (including lunch) will be held in the open field next to Ebenhezer Hoogte and Kanana Townships from 14h00.

Operation Hlasela: Day 2 Program

A Christmas Party for the Elderly and Disabled People at the Community Hall in Moemaneng Township from 10h00 - Only elderly (65 years and above) and disabled people will be allowed into the venue. From midday, a Christmas party for children aged between 3 and 12 years old at the Moemaneng Park.

From 14h00, there is going to be a Community meeting and lunch at the Moemaneng Township Stadium.

Operation Hlasela: Day 3

The mayor of Phumelela local municipality will hand over completed projects to the Premier for official opening. The completed projects include a new school, a library, sewer pump station, a clinic and roads. About 800 children, aged between 6 and 12 will be treated to a Christmas party and finally, there will also be an official opening of the Thanda Tau truck mall on the N3 highway.
