Opening of Fezile Dabi Film Studio
The Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation (DSACR) will officially open the newly established Film Studio in the Fezile Dabi district. The studio is located at Zamdela/Sasolburg in the Metsimaholo Local Municipality.Although located in Fezile Dabi district the studio is for the benefit of all film makers in the Free State province who are willing to access it for film production purposes.
Film makers can use the studio for film editing and refinement purposes after shooting of documentaries. This is a state of the art facility which has been established to the total value of R1,3
million. Hi-tech equipment and software installed in this facility equivalent to the equipment and software used at such film powerhouses as Hollywood with similar qualitative effects.
This initiative is a product of a collaborative effort between DSACR; national Department of Arts and Culture; Metsimaholo Local Municipality; Topcrew Film Company and private sponsors. Further roll out of these studios is anticipated as part of the quest to ensure diversity in content of films.
The official opening of the Film Studio will take place as follows:

Commenting on this milestone the MEC for DSACR, Mrs Mathabo Leeto, stated that “as this government we continue to roll up our sleeves to ensure quality service delivery across the spectrum, including the arena of arts and culture as well as sport and recreation. The establishment of this film studio follows in the wake of our construction and opening of the state of the art Fezile Dabi stadium as well as the Master Nakedi Indoor Sport Centre in the Thabo Mofutsanyana district. This achievement of infrastructure development and programme offerings is replicated in other parts of the Free State Province”.
