Deputy Minister for Public Service and Administration, Ayanda Dlodlo, to engage the youth of Mpumalanga on the Open Government Partnership land reform and youth economic development
Public Service and Administration Deputy Minister, Ayanda Dlodlo, in partnership with the Mpumalanga Provincial Government, will host a youth dialogue on Open Government Partnership (OGP), land reform and youth economic development on 30 June 2016 in the Mbombela Municipality in Mpumalanga Province.
The dialogue forms part of the Youth Month activities. It seeks to solicit and elevate the voice of the youth in the critical governance issues envisaged by the OGP.
With the theme “Youth unemployment and land reform,” it has infused the land reform program into the discourse to educate the youth about the importance of understanding the role played by lack of access to land in their disempowerment. The strategic objective therefore is to get the youth from all its formations to actively participate in governance and land reform debates that can help find solutions to the challenges of empowerment and development.
The Open Government Partnership is a multi-stakeholder coalition of leading governments and civil society organisations working to advance transparency and accountability in government, with the goals of increasing the responsiveness of government to citizens, countering corruption, promoting economic efficiencies,
harnessing innovation, and improving the delivery of services.
The Deputy Minister for Public Service and Administration and OGP Presidential Envoy, Ms Ayanda Dlodlo, will give an overview of the programme and participate in
the youth dialogue.
A moderated panel discussion constituted by youth formations and other high profile speakers will discuss the theme of the program.
