Nyembezi Kunene's passing a sad loss to the country
The Portfolio Committee on Arts and Culture joins all South Africans in mourning the untimely death of legendary actor, director and playwright, Mr Nyembezi Kunene. The performing arts industry is today poorer without this legend and his contribution will be greatly missed.
“His contribution to the growth of dramatic arts in the country was immense and we were hopeful that he will continue telling a truly South African story and passing on his wisdom to the upcoming generation of artists. It is indeed a sad day, not only for his family and friends but for all South Africans,” said Ms Xoliswa Tom, the Chairperson of the Committee.
