The North West Provincial Government will on Monday, 20 June 2016 celebrate Africa Public Service Day, an annual event entrenched in the African Union calendar and celebrated across the continent on 23 June. The provincial celebration will be attended by amongst others, Head of Departments, frontline officials and gender focal persons.
This celebration is viewed as a platform to motivate public servants to further promote innovation, enhance professionalism and trust in government, as well as sharing best practices for possible replication within a country as well as across the African Continent.
The event is also a platform to reflect and share practical recommendations on women empowerment in public service nationally and across the continent.
The theme for this year’s celebration is: “The Public Service We Want: Taking Gender Mainstreaming to the next level.”
A panel of experts on transformation will as part of the day’s programme, share knowledge, strategies and best practices with regard to the following sub-themes :-
- Repositioning the African Public Service: Towards Sustainable Youth Development.
- Women’s rights are Human Rights : Positioning the Public Service towards Agenda 2063
- Public Governance for Inclusive Growth: Towards the Africa Public Service we want.
