North West Premier conveys condolences to EFF on killing of councillor candidate
Premier SOR Mahumapelo has reacted with shock to news about the passing on of Mr Francis Modisenyana Matlabe who was an EFF councillor candidate in ward 9 in Mamusa Local Municipality.
It is reported that Matlabe passed on following an accident 5kilometres outside Scweizer Reneke town on the way to Bloemhof.
“The demise of Mr Matlabe has come as a shock to us and on behalf of citizens of Bokone Bophirima and the Provincial Government I wish to express my sincere condolences to his family, friends and the EFF.” Mahumapelo said.
Mahumapelo further said it is particularly sad that Matlabe’s demise occurs on a day set aside for residents of Mamusa and all South Africans to cast their votes in further strengthening our democracy.
May Matlabe’s family, friends and political organization draw strength on the knowledge that he remained an activist up to his very last day and may the Almighty comfort them during this difficult time.
