MEC Desbo Mohono on tourism destinations during Easter holidays

Explore the North West over Easter holidays

North West MEC for Tourism in the North West province is calling on holiday makers to consider and explore an array of tourism destinations within the province. MEC Mohono said this as the world will be observing the Christian Holiday, while others will be taking a first semester break to go on holiday with their families, starting on Thursday.

MEC Mohono said this as she was wishing all those who will be traveling to various destinations well in their journeys. “Most people will be taking a break and some have not decided where they could take their families for vacation.

This is the ideal time to invite them to explore and have a great experience of what the province can offer. We have beautiful environment, great hotels, guest houses and warm heated people, in Villages, Townships and Small Dorpies. As the province we invite them to explore our tourism products, where we can guarantee them service excellence throughout their stay”, she said

She called on the people of the North West to take the Short Left and visit local products.

MEC Mohono also encouraged locals to take time off during this Christian holiday to tour their province. She said that the province has a rich history and culture, food and environment. The will be a lot of events in churches, local annual Easter games in our townships, while other will be visiting their families and friends.

“I urge those who will be doing so, to extend their stay and visit areas like the, Taung skull heritage site and Small heaven in Taung, Our game parks across the province, Hotels and taste our African traditional cuisine prepared by professional chefs from our Hotel Schools in the province”, she said.      

MEC Mohono said that her department has already started profiling small dorpies which most have rich history. She said that small towns like Groot Marico, Ventersdorp and others have a rich cultural back ground and can be of great interest to most tourists.
