The National Department of Planning, Monitoring and Performance and the Department of Local Government and Human Settlements will from tomorrow until Friday, 14 July 2017, have a feedback sessions will all municipalities on the local government management improvement model (LGMIM).
LGMIM is a technique that is used to measure the institutional performance of municipalities across a number of performance areas, i,e, integrated planning and implementation, human resources management, financial management, service delivery, community engagement and governance .
Each performance area is assessed against standards established by relevant transversal departments (e.g. National Treasury and Water and Sanitation). The technique looks at the municipality from various angles at the same time, thus adopting a holistic approach to institutional performance analysis.
