North West Legislature Portfolio Committee on Transport and Community Safety to meet the Department of Transport Management for Scholar Transport Licensing and Permits
On Thursday, 26 May 2016, the North West Provincial Legislature’s Portfolio Committee on Public Works, Roads, Transport and Community Safety will hold a meeting with the Department of Community Safety and Transport Management and the provincial Traffic Department at the Legislature’s Committee Room 2 at 11h00.
Both the department and the provincial Traffic Department will brief the committee on the status quo for motor vehicle licensing (first issue and renewal); percentage allocation on licensing fees at agencies (municipalities); licensing system back –up; current challenges and planned interventions for motor vehicle licensing; implementation strategy for scholar transport including beneficiary schools.
The committee will also get a briefing on the total number of learner beneficiaries and service providers per district; number of signed service level agreements and the status quo on weigh bridges in the province including status quo on licensing vehicles ferrying children to school and scholar transport.
