On Tuesday 29 August 2017, the North West Provincial Legislature’s Standing Committee on Provincial Public Accounts (SCOPA) will hold a meeting with the Department of Finance, Economy and Enterprise Development and Department of Local Government and Human Settlements to account on the R54 million abandoned housing project in Unit 3 and unoccupied Community Residential Unit project near Extension 39 in Mahikeng. The meeting will be held in the Legislature Conference Room at 11h00.
The Local Government department will also account on the municipal shared services of the Audit Committee whilst the Finance department will brief the Provincial Public Accounts on recovery of debts owed to municipalities by the National and Provincial departments and funds that were underspent or not utilized by the departments and municipalities.
MEC Wendy Nelson from Finance department and MEC Fenny Gaolaolwe and senior management will be present in the meeting.
