On Friday, 28 July 2017, the Speaker of the North West Provincial Legislature, Hon. Susan Dantjie, will host Traditional Leaders Sectoral Parliament under the theme: “Enhancing the Constitutional Rights of Traditional Leadership,” to debate on traditional authorities’ legislative gains since adoption of Constitution; in the Legislature Chamber at 9h00.
Traditional leaders will also debate on their Constitutional rights and harmonization of cooperative governance between traditional authorities and government.
About 200 representatives from the Provincial House of Traditional Leaders including Headsmen; Department of Local Government and Human Settlements; Department of Culture, Arts and Traditional Affairs and the South African Local Government Association will attend the event.
All the issues raised will be compiled into a detailed report and the relevant departments will respond in the feedback session.
