Bokone Bophirima Provincial Government will on Friday, 07 October 2016 hold the Provincial Public Service Sports and Recreation Day at Ikageng Stadium, Potchefstroom, Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Municipality.
The purpose of the event is to further implement and promote strategies aimed at increasing the morale of public servants across the province.
Public servants will participate in various sporting activities aimed at promoting individual wellness, fitness and healthy lifestyles.
To be held under the theme, “Creating a Healthy Workforce Through Sports and Recreation”, the day will be attended by various public servants who have participated and won in all four district games which were held last week Friday in the province.
Activities for the day will start at 7 am in the morning with a 6 km fun run, 2,5 km fun walk followed by various sporting codes which include Soccer, Netball, Tennis, Table Tennis and Volleyball.
There will also be free health and wellness screening for ailments like high blood pressure, cholesterol, Tuberculosis and HIV & Aids.
