New Wi-Fi hotspots to be announced
On Monday (26 September 2016), Alan Winde, MEC of Economic Opportunities, will announce the Western Cape’s new public Wi-Fi hotspots.
Earlier this year, Premier Helen Zille and MEC Winde, in partnership with Neotel, launched the first 50 of 384 hotspots. These hotspots are aimed at connecting our citizens to the economy.
MEC Winde will outline the new sites and provide an update on the success of the existing hotspots.
There will also be a demonstration of Wi-Finda, a locally developed app to locate the hotspots.
