Led by Honourable Chairperson, Refilwe Mogale, the Gauteng Provincial Legislature’s Petitions Standing Committee will convene on Tuesday for the tabling of new petitions as well as to receive a report on ongoing petitions.
The Standing Committee’s hearing will focus on the Storm water channel – Sebokeng; Request for a clinic -Evaton West; Proclamation of worshiping site -Orange Farm; Request for a Police Station – Thulamtwana; and Liqour Outlet - 3144 Far East Bank petitions. The Committee will consider these petitions submitted by members of these communities, once received, the Committee will ensure these service delivery challenges are resolved and addressed through Emfuleni Municipality; Department of Health; Department of Human Settlement and COGTA; Department of Community Safety; and Department of Economic Development respectively - as the relevant authorities.
In addition to considering these new petitions, the Standing Committee will also receive Reports on the External Hearings for Ekurhuleni Region – Daveyton; and Tshwane Region – Soshanguve. These reports will provide feedback on progress made thus far in resolving these petitions.
