NCOP Chairperson Hon. Thandi Modise to Attend BRICS Women Parliamentarians’ Forum in India
The Chairperson of the National Council of Provinces (NCOP), Ms Thandi Modise, will attend a meeting of the BRICS Women Parliamentarians’ Forum on 20 and 21 August 2016, in Jaipur, India, on the theme “Women Parliamentarians: Enablers for Achieving Sustainable Development Goals”.
The meeting will include discussion on the following subjects:
- Perspectives on implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
- Achieving SDGs – the role of women Parliamentarians in involving citizens
- Containing climate change – imperatives of global cooperation
As leader of the South African delegation, Hon. Modise will address the inaugural ceremony on the 20 August.
