The National Teaching Awards implore all our teachers to begin to recognise excellence in what they are called to do within the noble profession. As the Limpopo Department of Education, we have a duty to support and build our teachers to ensure that they compare favorably on all national and international platforms.
The quality of any education system can be predicted on the quality of its teachers. Although the qualification profile of teachers has improved from 53 percent in 1990 to 97 percent in 2013, different studies continue to point out that the need to continuously ensure that teacher’s and subject advisors’ competencies are improved. We are committed to ensuring that our teachers are able to grow and improve.
