Limpopo Education on delivery of mobile classrooms in Vuwani

More mobile classrooms delivered in Vuwani area

There is daily praise to government in schools of Vuwani area, Limpopo. This follows the delivery of Mobile Classrooms to schools in the area. The teachers, learners, parents and members of the Schools Governing Bodies (SGB’s) are seen receiving the classes with least smile of relief in their faces.

“We want our kids back to class. The damage here was aimed at destroying the lives of our children. We can see classes may not be enough for now but this is a sign that our government cares for people of Vuiwani” Said Mr Mashau at the Vhudzani Secondary School in Ha-Mashau.

Classrooms, admin block and the storeroom have been torched during the recent protests in this school. Vhudzani is one of the schools receiving eight Mobile Classrooms. On the other side, eight classrooms were off-loaded at Frank Mukhaswakule Primary School on Monday and are being made ready. A total of four were also delivered to Kuruleni School while additional eight are set aside for Vhafamadi Secondary School where classed and the administration block where also gutted by fire.

Yesterday, three were delivered to Mavhina Secondary School, additional one at Vhafamadi Secondary School, two each at Tshivhade and Mashau Primary Schools. The Mobile classrooms continue to be delivered throughout the day including in the evenings. This is to make sure that a total of 76 Mobile classrooms get to schools as soon as possible to allow smooth teaching and learning processes.

The department has also purchased a total of 350 single and 220 double desks to be delivered to needy schools. Also in process of being supplied soon are other support materials such as stationary, restoration of food supply and text books.

The department wishes to thank all the learners, teachers, SGB members, traditional leadership and the community in general for the support to the call of getting education resuming and running smooth in the area. The Inter-Ministerial Committee continues to engage with all the stakeholders in the area to make sure all hands are on the deck to facilitate teaching and learning in the area.

Parents are encouraged to allow their children to go to schools while the State Security agents are continuously monitoring the area. Learners interviewed in the area also show keen interest in going back to school hence urging Government to do all possible to get teaching and learning running smooth.
