Premier Supra Mahumapela on infrastructure development

More jobs projected for North West communities – Mahumapelo announces

Premier Supra Mahumapelo of the North West Province says a major infrastructure development programme soon to be implemented in Mahikeng will over a period of five years create approximately 5000 temporary jobs during construction and 2000 permanent jobs after completion.

Mahumapelo said this today, Friday, 26 February 2016, while delivering his State of the Province Address at the official Opening of the North West Provincial Legislature in Matlosana.

Mahumapelo said this infrastructure development programme involves an Integrated Government precinct, a world class stadium, an International Convention Centre and a five star hotel complex in Mahikeng, this as part of the five cities initiatives which he pronounced on last year.

“This development will definitely give Mahikeng the much needed facelift, this in the context of rebranding, repositioning and renewing Mahikeng as our Capital City, said Premier Mahumapelo who added that the local business including SMMEs will secure a stake in this development.

Mahumapelo said an integrated retail component will be included in this development in order to guarantee the sustainability thereof.
