MECs Donald Grant and Bonginkosi Madikizela reveal details on Game-Changing Conradie "Better Living Model" Exemplar Project, 22 Feb

On Monday, MEC of Transport and Public Works, Donald Grant, and MEC of Human Settlements, Bonginkosi Madikizela, will reveal details of the Western Cape Government’s game-changing Better Living Model Exemplar Project (BLMEP). This innovative Western Cape Government-led initiative was announced by Premier Helen Zille in her 2016 State of the Province Address (SOPA).

The objective is to create a Better Living Model (“BLM”) characterized by a place where people can live, work, play and learn all within a desirable, connected, safe, and socially inclusive environment.

The 22 hectare former Conradie Hospital site has been identified for the development of an integrated, sustainable, and affordable residentially-led, mixed-use neighbourhood, that will see a multi-million rand investment and partnership between the Western Cape Government, the City of Cape Town, and the private sector.

MEC Grant and MEC Madikizela will provide details on this innovative new initiative.

Media are invited and welcome to attend. There will be opportunity for photographs and interviews. Please indicate via email if you will be in attendance.
