Mineral Resources Minister Mosebenzi Zwane has appealed for calm in Northam, North-West province, following the death of another mine employee in the area, bringing to two the number of people killed in the past few days.
The Minister further calls on all concerned to allow law enforcement agencies to do their work in order to bring the perpetrators to book.
The Minister will visit the area on Thursday to obtain a briefing on what has transpired.
"We are also making an appeal to stakeholders not to engage in any conduct that would undermine the Framework Agreement for a Sustainable Mining Industry, particularly in ensuring the rule of law, peace and stability," Minister Zwane said.
