Minister Zokwana Imbizo Focus Week visit to Jericho in the North West
The minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Mr Senzeni Zokwana, will visit Jericho in the North West Province on Friday, 5 May 2017.
The minister’s visit is part of the National Imbizo Focus Week that will give a platform for communities to share relevant stakeholders’ issues relating to participation of youth and women in the agriculture, forestry and fisheries sectors.
The visit aims to respond to the challenges of food security, poverty and hunger.
The Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF) in collaboration with the North West Department of Agriculture through the Comprehensive Agricultural Support Programme (CASP) has supported projects around Jericho to address food security issues in the area. The Jericho project has been one of the flagship projects to showcase government services.
Some of the projects to be visited include the Bana ba Kgwale Agricultural Primary Cooperative, Jericho Cattle Feedlot, Baena Cooperative and also the GMMM Itireleng Agricultural Co-operative.
