Minister of Water and Sanitation to launch the Worcester Bulk Water Supply Project, 10 May

The Minister of Water and SanitationMs Nomvula Mokonyane will launch the Worcester Bulk Water Supply Project (WBWSP) on 10 May 2016 at Zwelethemba Sports Field, in Worcester at Breede Valley Local Municipality.

The augmentation of the WBWSP is necessary to ensure the security of supply demand to the communities of both Worcester and Rawsonville. The project will provide water services to over 146 000 people within the service area. WBWSP will ensure the delivery of sustainable basic water services, the enhancement of economic development towards achieving the national services target, water redistribution as well as eradicating all water backlogs.

The launch will be in two phases:

Phase One: Site visits to theReservoir and Pipeline (Rawsonville) and photo opportunity with the media. The Minister will officially cut the ribbon at the Reservoir between 9h30 and 11h00.

Phase Two: Minister will address the community at Zwelethemba Sports field in Worcester at 11h30.
