Minister of Small Business Development, Ms Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams, to launch the Walter Sisulu University Centre for Entrepreneurship Rapid Incubator

Minister of Small Business Development, Ms Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams, is expected to launch the Walter Sisulu University Centre for Entrepreneurship Rapid Incubator (WSU-CfERI) on Friday, 24 June 2022 at Mthata in the Eastern Cape. This establishment supports local SMMEs from across various sectors with a strong focus on agriculture. The CfERI currently provides incubation services to 55 clients from all four WSU campuses across different towns in the Eastern Cape. A total of 24 jobs and 15 SMMEs have been created in the last financial year. 

WSU-CfERI is one of 110 incubators and hubs supported by the Small Enterprise Development Agency (Seda). The incubation centres and hubs provide tailor-made enterprise development services to innovative start-ups across various sectors. One of the key focus areas of this CfERI is to provide business development support services for WSU students, local entrepreneurs, and WSU alumni. 

The centre also amongst others facilitates business linkage and provides access to necessary business resources to assist entrepreneurs with transitioning business ideas into sustainable enterprises.
