Minister Peters dismayed by fatal Magoebaskloof road crash
The emerging reports regarding a devastating crash involving a bus on the R528 in Magoebaskloof, Limpopo, have deeply saddened and shocked Minister of Transport, Ms Dipuo Peters.
According to the reports, a passenger bus carrying worshippers to the Holy City of Moria tragically overturned, claiming the lives of ten people and injuring at least 60 other people who were treated for wounds that are ranging from minor to severe.
Ms Peters said that the cause of the crash is still being ‘rigorously investigated’ as the events leading to the fatal crash are unknown at this nascent stage of the investigation.
“The department is working closely with local authorities in order to swiftly identify the cause of the crash and a report will be released as soon as the investigation is concluded”, said the Minister of Transport.
Minister Peters conveyed her deepest regrets and said that “our thoughts and most heartfelt condolences are with the relatives and loved ones of the deceased, and we wish those who sustained injuries a quick and full recovery.”
