Minister Pandor to brief media on DST R7.4 billion budget ahead of delivering the Budget Vote Speech in National Assembly Chamber, 19 April
The Minister of Science and Technology, Naledi Pandor, will brief the media in Parliament on Tuesday 19 April at 10am, on the Department of Science and Technology’s (DST) priorities for this financial year.
Under the theme, “Innovation for sustainable local government and youth development”, Minister Pandor, will outline how the DST plans to spend its allocation of R7.4 billion allocation for the 2016/17 financial year, to ensure that the country reaches its target of gross expenditure on research and development equal to 1,5% of GDP by 2019.
The Minister will also host the EU Ambassador to South Africa, Dr Marcus Cornaro who will deliver a lecture at the TH Barry Lecture Hall, Iziko Museum at 12:00.
The Minister will deliver her Budget Vote speech in the National Assembly Chamber at 14h00 on the same day.
The Past: We are one exhibition will also be on display at Iziko as well as a DST exhibition showcasing the value of science to society.
