Minister Nomvula Mokonyane launches Water Augumentation Projects, 26 May

The Minister of Water and Sanitation, Ms Nomvula Mokonyane will launch three water augmentation projects on Thursday that will meet the increasing high demand for water in Gauteng. 

The surges in demand for water often increase when heatwaves occur and during prolonged periods of low rainfall or drought.

The water augmentation projects comprise of the construction of a water filtration facility and a sedimentation facility. The two facilities will enable Rand Water to pump an additional 200 mega litres of water per day. At present, Rand Water pumps 4 800 mega litres of water per day. 

Members of the media are invited to this event.  All members of the media will be required to produce their IDs to gain access to the Zuikerbosch Water Purification Plant.
