As per the advisory dated 04 May 2016, the Minister of Water and Sanitation, Nomvula Mokonyane will visit Emalahleni Local Municipality on Friday, 06 May 2016 to assess progress on the War on Leaks (WoL) training programme.
The War on Leaks programme is the department’s flagship project aimed at reducing water losses through leaks. Leaks account for the most water losses in the country. The current water leaks cost the country about R7 billion per annum. As a way addressing the challenge, the department came up with the project to train the youth to become water agents, plumbers and artisans.
