The youth of Kokosi Township, Fochville in the Merafong Municipality, Gauteng will have an opportunity to interact with Minister for Public Service and Administration, Advocate Ngoako Ramatlhodi on issues of youth development during a Youth Imbizo that will be held in the area on Thursday, 09 June 2016.
Minister Ramatlhodi will be joined by the SABC Chief Operating Officer, Mr Hlaudi Motsoeneng.
The Imbizo follows that of Mdantsane in East London last week where the Minister announced a joint venture programme by Public- Sector Education and Training Authority (P-SETA) and DPSA in which the Buffalo City Municipality will host a number of graduates in the areas of infrastructure planning, development, operation and maintenance for undergraduates, in the form of a bursary to the value of R45000.00 each for a period of two years.
The outreach programme which is celebrated under the theme: “Youth moving South Africa forward”, forms part of the National Youth Month Imbizo programme in which government and young people meet in different platforms to converse on access to developmental programs that can improve the lives of local young people. These would include amongst others, economic development as well as programmes aimed at education and skills development.
The programme also form part of the Minister Ramatlhodi’s strategic vehicle that enables government to interact, engage and encourage youths to make the Public Service, their career of choice.
“There are plenty of opportunities to be explored by youths in the public service at all levels of government, national, provincial and at a local level. And therefore that should make the public service attractive to young people as an employer and career of choice,” says Minister Ramatlhodi.
The Community of youth will also have the opportunity to receive services and engage with officials from service delivery departments that will be available on the day of the event.
