The Minister of Water and Sanitation, Ms Nomvula Mokonyane, will tomorrow brief the media on a process to review the procurement processes at the Department of Water and Sanitation.
The review has been necessitated by a number of factors including allegations of fraud, corruption and irregularities in tender award processes at the department.
Given the critical mandate of the department and the nature of contracts administered by the department, that often involve large sums of money, the Minister has felt it necessary to brief the media and to make the necessary announcements on these matters.
