The Minister of Water and Sanitation, Ms Nomvula Mokonyane will meet with the Premier of the North West, Mr Supra Mahumapelo, to respond to the latest and on-going challenges of water availability in the Ngaka Modiri Molema District Municipality (NMMDM).
The meeting between the principals is necessitated by the fact that although there are plans and routes in place for water tankering to communities, a dispute that has arisen between the NMMDM and the service providers has the potential to scupper these plans. The Minister will also be handing additional water tankers over to the Premier for use in the municipality.
The water tankers handing over event will be held as indicated below and all media are invited accordingly:
