The Minister of Human Settlements, Lindiwe Sisulu, and Executive Mayor of the Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Municipality (NMBMM), Cllr Danny Jordaan will tomorrow, 4 December 2015 lead a clean-up campaign at Walmer, Port Elizabeth.
On Monday, 30 November 2015, Minister Sisulu and Mayor Jordaan handed over houses at Walmer Q launching the first human settlements project since the Cabinet approved intervention into Nelson Mandela Bay.
While at Walmer, Minister Sisulu and Mayor Jordaan saw the need for a clean-up campaign aimed at encouraging local community members to take care of their residential areas.
The Friday’s clean-up campaign will be conducted by Walmer community members, government officials, Nelson Mandela Bay Council members, and the recently graduated human settlements Youth Brigade.
