Minister Radebe to deliver keynote address at the launch of the planning, monitoring and evaluation Community of Practicee for schedule 3A public entities

Minister in the Presidency for Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (DPME) and Chairperson of the National Planning Commission, Jeff Radebe, will deliver the keynote address at the Launch of the planning, monitoring and evaluation Community of Practice (CoP) for schedule 3A public entities and Constitutional Institutions.

The purpose of this Community of Practice is to bring various stakeholders, especially public entities, together to discuss and share best practice, build and improve capacity on planning, monitoring and evaluation.

Existing learning networks and Community of Practice on strategic planning, monitoring and evaluation focus on departments and minimal attention is paid to public entities.

The DPME identified the need to create this platform in line with its mission to ‘facilitate, influence and support effective planning, monitoring and evaluation of government programmes aimed at improving service delivery, outcomes and impact on society’.

The areas to be explored include the alignment of short and medium term plans to long term plans, the National Development Plan, as well as planning and reporting challenges for public entities amongst others.
