Minister Mbalula launches Easter Road Safety Campaign in North West

The Minister of Transport, Mr Fikile Mbalula joined by Mr Sello Lehari, MEC for the North West Department of Community Safety and Transport Management, Road Traffic Management Cooperation Chief Executive Officer, Advocate Makhosini Msibi will on Monday launch the Easter Road Safety campaign.

The Minister will demonstrate the use of a new law enforcement technology as he officially launches the 2021 Easter Road Safety Campaign to promote responsible road use during the Easter period and beyond.

The Road Traffic Management Corporation has taken a giant leap towards reinventing law enforcement by introducing a lasting solution to many law enforcement problems in the form of a body-worn camera to be used by officers. This use of e-enforcement will not only bring about much-needed relief to the fraternity but will also enhance road safety for all road users especially motorists.

The body-worn camera will be a useful tool in dealing with the high levels of bribery incidents by providing a factual account of events.

The Minister will also hand over 31 vehicles to the North West Province to enhance law enforcement efforts in the province.

Members of the media are invited to join the Minister at the launch as follows:
