Transport Minister Ms Dipuo Peters, together with her Provincial counterpart MEC Weziwe Tikana, will visit the Mthatha Airport and hold a community Imbizo at the Mthatha Airport on Friday, 17 June 2016 at 09h00.
The session will be preceded by a walkabout at the Airport terminal led by honorable Minister, Dipuo Peters at 08h00.
The purpose of the visit is to check on the progress made with regard to the challenges that were brought forth by the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA), during the Minister’s visit to the Airport on February 2015 on the state of the airport around issues of compliance.
It is also intended to reassure the people of Mthatha that government keeps the promises it makes and is committed in improving the lives of all South Africans for the better.
To date improvements have since taken place and are being implemented coupled with the completion of the terminal building.
