Minister Angie Motshekga wishes Vhembe matric learners good luck for re-write

The Minister of Basic Education, Mrs Angie Motshekga wishes Grade 12 learners in the Vhembe district who will be rewriting Life Sciences paper 1 today, good luck.

It is regrettable that the whole district has to rewrite the examination due to the selfish and unethical behaviour of certain people. It was necessary to protect the integrity of the examination after it was discovered that it was leaked and circulated to learners before the exam.

The examination starts at 11am this morning. We would like to assure learners that this is not the case. We use specific criteria when setting examination papers and the same principle is applied to all examination papers in this subject. This is an opportunity for all the learners in the district to do even better, if they studied hard for the initial examination then this would have been revision.

We have deployed DBE monitors to the province to assist with the administration of the examination. A total of 15 960 full time and 1 540 part time candidates will write the Life Sciences examination. Once again the Minister wishes all learners in the Vhembe District of Limpopo good luck for these examinations.
