Minister Aaron Motsoaledi delivers Department of Health submission to Health Market Inquiry panel, 11 Mar

Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi, will on Friday, 11 March 2016, deliver his department’s submission before the Competition Commission’s Private Healthcare Market Inquiry (HMI) Panel. Minister Motsoaledi is one of several stakeholders that have in the recent past expressed concern about the exorbitant private healthcare costs.

Hospital groups, Life Healthcare Group Holding Ltd and Mediclinic South Africa (Pty) Ltd will deliver their submissions to the Panel tomorrow, 10 March 2016. Netcare Ltd will kickstart proceedings with its submission on Friday morning.

Hearings have been arranged as follows:

The HMI public hearings are in their fourth and last week of the first set in Cape Town. The next set of hearings is scheduled for 29 – 31 March, in Pretoria.
