Mineral resources on resignation of Director-General

Mineral Resources Director-General Dr Thibedi Ramontja has resigned from the Department after four years of service, for personal reasons.

“I am thankful to the Government of South Africa for the opportunities afforded to me, including being the DG of this department,” Dr Ramontja said.

The Minister has praised the DG for his professionalism and contribution to the department and government.

“The DG and I have worked well since I joined the department. His work ethic and commitment are indeed commendable, and I would like to wish him well for the future,”
Minister Mosebenzi Zwane said.

The DG will leave the department at the end of January, and an acting appointment will be announced in due course.
