Military Veterans holds service delivery roadshows in Eastern Cape, 12 to 23 Feb

Taking services to Military Veterans of the Eastern Cape Province

The Department of Military Veterans and the Office of the Premier Eastern Cape Province, will as part of the government programme of action take services closer to military veterans. This is a planned interaction with Military Veterans from statutory and non-statutory forces on matters pertaining to the delivery of benefits as stipulated in the Military Veterans Act 18 of 2011, in the Eastern Cape Province from the 12th February 2018.

The department is calling all Military Veterans to participate in these roadshows which are aimed at improving services to military veterans. During these roadshows military veterans will update their personal profiles on the department database, to promote easy access to other benefits that are offered by the department and to finalise their benefits applications where possible. The interaction will include discussions on progress and challenges faced in delivering housing, health, education, pensions to military veterans’, as well as other benefits stipulated in the Act.

The roadshow will take place under the theme “Faster Delivery to Military Veterans” which seeks to ensure access to benefits by military veterans, building of partnerships with other key stakeholders like Office of the Premier and working together with other government departments,  business, labour, civil society and Military Veterans as represented by their associations.

The two week road show programme is as follows:
