Ladies and gentlemen

Good afternoon

“The richest place on earth is the graveyard, because it is filled with great songs which were never sung, paintings which we have never seen, books that were never written, poetry that was never read. The graveyard is filled with great powerful men and women who never poured out their gifts and talents for the benefit of society”

These are the words expressed by the late Dr Myles Munroe.

We are gathered here to pay tribute to one of the most vibrant and extraordinary gospel artists of our time, Lundi Tyamara.

His chapter has ended but his uplifting and active spirit must resonate within the fabric and ambits of our souls.

The outpouring condolences and messages of support from all corners of the country testify to the fact that Lundi touched many lives with his music.

We will never forget how he arrived in Gauteng as a teenager to take the country by storm through his timeless gospel hits. We all could attest to the fact that the arrival of Lundi marked a paradigm shift in the gospel music industry.

He received many accolades in the music and entertainment industry for his gospel hits – Mphefumlo Wami, Mvuleleni Angene, Mniku’dumo, Khuluma Nabo and Inkosi’ Iyayazi.

Lundi’s music gave hope to the hopeless. It played a pivotal role in nation building as it inspired social change in the society.

I would like to challenge and encourage you to give society your best like Lundi, so that we can say when your chapter has ended, you have lived a life worthy of praise.

Lundi left us when we least expected it. He joined his fellow artists such as Mama Thandi Klaasen, Sfiso Ncwane, Mandoza and many others.

Our most heartfelt condolences go to his family, friends and his fans.
